Saint Cecilia’s is new spiritual community meeting in-person Sundays at 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at the Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square in the heart of Round Top, Texas. Round Top is a small charming city located halfway between Houston and Austin. It is home to one of the world’s largest antique festivals, many designers and artists, and the Round Top Festival Institute. Saint Cecilia’s also offers a recorded service that is posted online each week.
Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians so Saint Cecilia’s Church celebrates the creative gifts of all musicians and artists. We are an open and inclusive community that proclaims God’s love to all people (no exceptions) and to our animal friends. We are affiliated with the Episcopal Church, a “Celtic” expression of the Christian tradition that honors scripture, tradition, reason and experience. We value the beauty of creation and the creative process as pathways to God. We believe: If it’s not about love, it’s not about God!
Our vision is to create a community of growing, loving, faithful people committed to God, to one another and to making a difference in the world. We value our in-person community meeting in Round Top and our virtual community that joins us for worship from throughout the world.
In addition to our worship services, we are committed to outreach through our work with Episcopal Relief and Development, The Howlelujah Foundation, the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter and many other organizations. We also plan to offer a special concert and literary series that celebrates artists, musicians and writers, as well as collaborative creative worship services that will celebrate the gifts particular musicians. We are especially mindful of the rich musical traditions of the state of Texas.
