The retreat will be led by iconographer Mary Jane Miller from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Mary Jane has many years’ experience in writing icons as well as teaching the art of icon-writing. Participants will be led through the prayerful practice of writing an icon using traditional egg tempura pigments, gold leaf, and hand hewn icon boards .
The retreat will be held at The Art Barn at The White House on the Hill (thewhitehouseonthehill.com) beginning at 9am and ending at 4pm each day, with a concluding blessing of the icons at St. Cecilia’s on Friday, March 10, at 3pm.
Cost for the course will be $600 with all supplies and daily lunch included.
