Like to Sing? Join the Round Top Singers!
The Round Top Singers, a local choral organization, is forming now. The group is funded by a music grant from Saint Cecilia’s Episcopal Church in Round Top. The group is open to any singer. There will be a series of performances, concerts and special services throughout the year with Guest Conductors from Texas and beyond. The first rehearsal for the group will be on Saturday, February 21st, at 2:30 p.m. at Saint Cecilia’s (The Haw Creek Chapel) in Henkel Square in Round Top. There will be a second rehearsal on Sunday, February 22nd, at 2:30 p.m. at the Edythe Bates Old Chapel at Festival Hill. The first gathering and performance of the group will be for a beautiful traditional service of Choral Evensong at the Edythe Bates Old Chapel at Festival Hill on Sunday, February 22nd, at 5:00. The Evensong Service, one of the most memorable in the Anglican Choral Tradition, will be directed by Organist/Choirmaster Andrew Bowen, former Music Director at historic Trinity Church, Houston. Guest singers will join the Round Top Singers from College Station and Houston for this special Evensong.
