Soul of the Song – Fletcher Clark

April 06, 2022

In an evening filled with stories and toe-tapping music, Fletcher Clark, accompanied by Mike Harris on mandolin and dobro, and Howard Kalisz on fiddle, shared his decades of experiences on the Texas music scene.

Fletcher shared stories of his time at Armadillo World Headquarters, and spoke of the many musicians with whom he has played over the years. He talked about his songwriting process, and played many of his original songs, as well as a few covers (including Townes Van Zandt’s Pancho and Lefty, and the poetic lyrics of Hank William’s I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.

A little bit of Texas swing with Fletcher on guitar and vocals and outstanding fiddle playing by Howard Kalisz.
Mike Harris adds mandolin (with his dobro in the case ready for the next song!)
